Some good, some bad, some rule-breakers – all short.

Noh face and moon mind.

I see as though through her eyes.

Time has almost stopped.

I am the Phoenix

arising from the ashes

of every moment.

The magnolia,

unwatched and unattended,

blooming with full heart.

Always becoming,

Each breath, each moment, each day,

always becoming.

Birds sing in the night,

we are fooled by reflections

of a sunlight past.

Gull on a chimney,

February fog descends -

There is light beyond.

Blossoms not yet bloomed

and a stream that does not flow.

There may be no more.

Peaceful turtle swims

through my mind – a summers day,

a long time ago

Dark and storm wild day

clinging leaves glowing brighter -

and so too this life.

Measured in moments,

the treasures I have amassed

will last for lifetimes.
