Happy ox at grass,

unready and unwilling,

though the hour is late.

Carried on a breeze,

I drink the dew of roses

in secret places

Today the hedgerow wears

a  coronet of blossoms.

- Ah! to really see!

It is a good day!

Today the wild iris blooms -

tomorrow it fades.

One, two, five, nine, twelve,

I lose count of the grasses

Inexplicably,

the weeds grow closer, entwined,

inextricably.

In shadows and light

little dancing golden flies -

the time draws nearer.

Endless blue above,

Heron wading in the stream  -

Childhood days again.

Bee breath in a glass

- use this trap to find escape.

The honey fields wait
